E82 1M Coupe (2011 - 2012)
In many ways the spiritual successor to the E30 M3. Powered by a M derivitive of the N54 the inline six makes 340hp and giving the 1M a 0-60 time of 4.5 seconds.

Winter Tires

Does anybody know what kind of snow tires will fit 1M?

Tire Rack says:
Due to the unique technical aspects of this application, we can only accept orders for Winter / Snow Tire & Wheel Packages for your 2012 BMW 1 Series M Coupe over the phone.

But they have package for M3 Competition....
What's so special about 1M?

If you look on the German BMW web site and download the pdf price list for the 1M, you can see on p14 the winter tyre package is listed as 235/40R18 on 8Jx18 (style 270M) - same front & rear. Personally, I'm not interested in extra clearance for being able to fit snow chains, etc (only better grip in sub 7deg weather) so I'm planning to go for a spare set of the 359M wheels with Michelin Alpin PA3 245/35R19 front & 255/35R19 rear. It doesn't look like Michelin do a 265/35R19 in the PA3 but, according to their web-site, the 255 can be fitted to 10in rims.

There's lot's of other interesting stuff in the same document

Just like mud, don't forget to save some space so the snow can be disperse out and away from the tire to retain traction. A lot of peeps forget that here in Germany, and end up with a sheet of ice on the wheel well that doesn't allow space for anything. Just food or thought, but if you live somewhere where all you get is a dusting, then you are good.
