The Perfect BMW Motorcycle Lock

Hey everyone I'm an Industrial Design Student at Carnegie Mellon University and for my current project I'm designing a motorcycle locking system for BMW motorcycles. The design has to match the styling trends of BMW and I'm designing it to be mounted on BMW motorcycles. I have a motorcycle license and have ridden before, but I've never owned a bike and therefore never had a lock. So I've come to you guys to ask if you can help me out by filling out a quick survey for me and also telling me any interesting stories you might have, or suggestions, praises, or complaints you might have about motorcycle locks. Thanks.

I hope that your efforts are positive and rewarding. The reality is that if someone wants your motorcycle, whether it's locked, chained to the ground, or tied to a tree, if the thieves want your bike, IT'S GONE. Back in 1981, I sold a Kawasaki GPZ1100 to a friend of mine. The bike was always garaged and /parked at the Navy Base (I am retired Navy). My friend lived at an apartment complex in Corpus Christi, Texas in a decent area. The bike had a fork lock, a center stand lock and an integrated hardened steel cable in the frame that pulled out and with a case hardened lock, wrapping it around a pole. Three points of "LOCK." The bike was covered as well. The bike lasted 3 days and was stolen. No prints, no pieces of cable, lock or cover. Good Luck.
