exhaust questions

so i've been listening to you guys and started to read a little bit. i don't have an upgraded exhaust system and i'm not sure where to start. i think i have emissions in 2012. i live in illinois. can i have a cat back exhaust? if not what are things that i can change? can i do it in pieces? i have decent power to my car now. it tops out at about 148mph but i would love to increase it.

thanks

two things...
1st
no a catback exhaust will not affect your emissions go with UUC
2nd
i can think of no situation that would merit driving a stock 323 148MPH... not saying i havent done it in my younger years but still...

idk why i would lie about that? my car has simple mods like a chip, CAI, headers. ive gotten my car over 140 twice. once at 143 and the other at 148. both times on the tollway with a passenger. i've only gotten it over 140 twice because it takes so long to do so. i have to ride fifth gear floored for about a minute straight. i'm not trying to increase how fast my car will go, i'm trying to increase how fast it takes to get to a certain speed.

Exhaust wont make you faster. Will make you FEEL like your going faster though.

Go with a Borla cat back
