Z3 Tire Wobble Problem Solved

About 1000 miles ago I put on four new snow tires and wheels and recently began to experience steering wheel vibration. I thought the problem was that Tire Rack had not properly balanced my wheels. My local tire guy agreed. But when I told him one other fact he completely changed his diagnosis. I told him that the wobble does not appear right away when I start driving the car. It only kicks in after 5 or 6 miles. Right away he said, "I bet tire balance is not the problem. I bet it's a frozen caliper." And he was right. He pulled off a tire and found the caliper was the problem.

By the way, since he had the car up on the lift, I asked him to go ahead and check the tires for balance anyways. He did and reported that two were fine, and two needed balancing. I wish I had asked him how out of balance they were.

I thought I would post this info in case someone else has steering wheel wobble.
