Don't see what the appeal of the aluminum finish is. If I couldn't have wood I would love carbon fiber.

Geez i am with you! If the best you can do with the new F is aluminum interior I think BMW has officially screwed up the rest of the choices. Aluminum is definitely not upscale. Looks like a cheaper way to get to folks pocketbooks.

I agree with the anti-aluminum lot. It just looks like a mid 90's acuara to me. CF, shiny black or wood please.

I think wood belongs on bedframes and floors but to each his/her own.

Aluminium trim is the clear winner for me in almost every situation, since I also dislike beige interiors (with which aluminium looks bad). My X3 has gray leather and I swapped the trim out a few years ago to the dotted aluminium trim, loving it ever since.

I'd go with the black cloth and aluminium, and if that's not available in the US, simply the black leatherette with aluminium.

Completely agree with the aluminum comment. Carbon Fiber would be nice though...

I like CF too, but I'm not sure if I would like it in an SUV.

Marc, I had a "mid 90's Acura" and it sported the best wood trim I have seen outside a Jag sedan. My BMW OTOH has black sensatech and aluminimum trim. I like it but it does look very utilitarian.

My mom's Jag has the nicest interior finishes I've ever seen in a car. I feel like I'm in a Victorian gentleman's club when I sit in there.
