Broken seat panel repair-DIY
A common problem with E39 with electric seat, the seat panel break too often and dealers will only sell a pair, after replaced the panel for the 3rd time, it broke again last year though I have been very careful.
It is getting real ugly as u can see and the electric seat stop working as the control panel socket was broken. I m sharing this simple DIY which I hope will finally work, I use the L shape metal bought from the hardware shop, it was too long and i have to cut it shorter, screw to the existing hole at the seat ![]() and this is the plastic part that is commonly use to hold the shelf to the wall ![]() Drill a hole at the panel where the L shape metal is place and insert a plastic plug to hold the panel to the metal. ![]() I hope it will last for a while, if anyone have a better idea, please share. |
