has anyone done smoked head/tail lights?

has anyone done this mod? Please post some pics if so. Also, has anyone ordered replacement reflectors that match the paint color of their X? If so, any recommendations as to where.

Hi Kidd
I can recommend jlevisw.com for the matching paint relectors. I was pondering the smoked lights, but like the look for the standard ones better. I think Jlevi also sells the tint for the lights too. Check them out and good luck.

If it's legal, don't smoke it.

I think I was looking at that place and they had two sets of tinted lights. One set was described as pre (somthing or other) and another set was described as post (something or other). Do you happen to know the diff? I will have to actually pick up the phone and call them to find out

You can actually access their site on line. If the chat light is flashing, someone will answer any of you questions. I am not sure what the answer is. BTW, I purchased the matching painted grills they seel and they are amazing looking.

Unless you NEVER drive at night, why would you want to tint your lights? And even during the day, people will not notice your brake lights as well.

the pre and post were probably referring to LCI (life cycle improvements - something, I think). Basically cosmetic updates for MY2011 and newer, taillights, bumpers, add'l paint, etc.
And BMW actually made OEM tinted taillights, called blacklines, for certain models. I have Googled for the E70 and haven't found anything, bummer too, because I had them on my X3 and they looked phenomenal. Did not alter the light output whatsoever. Agree though, any aftermarket tint film front or back is a bad idea...

i don't think it is a tint, just a darker, clear, headlight cover. I am more interested in the pre facelift vs facelift reflectors at this point. Cheap and nice looking mod IMO.
