Opinion on my (pending) deal

Hey everyone -
I'm new to the forum...and glad to be here...I went yesterday to local dealer and I think I have a fantastic deal on my hands...wanted to get everyone's opinion before I sign or if I should negotiate more. Also wanted to see which setup everyone recommends...I'm on the fence with the nav..never had it in car so not sure...thanks!

BTW...I'm getting the "invoice price" from truecar.com...both look to be about 500-600 over truecar.com invoice

Here is the vehicle:
'11 X3 35
Cold Weather
Premium
Sports Activity
MSRP: 48,325 Sale Price: 45619 or,
with Tech: MSRP 51500 Sale 48,357

I'm going select (or through credit union) BMW quoted select with 5K down, 576 on first deal, 615 on second. My credit union is about 20 bucks cheaper a month on each
THoughts??

The Dynamic Handling Package is worth every penny. Without it, the X3 just doesn't feel like a BMW.

Pretty standard. A lot of people (myself included) are getting about $500 over invoice thanks to Zag pricing. That's about the best deal you can get right now.

Excellent thanks! I thought that was the case... last question... I assume that the "invoice" you and others are referring to is what's on turecar right? And by that, its the invoice not taking into account the holdback etc... So for example...truecar has factory invoice plus options plus add fees plus destination whereas edmunds does not add in the regional add fees... I'm kinda trusting truecare more with the invoice pricing...is that accurate?

Sounds about right to me. I don't know what the BMW holdback on the X3 is nor I suspect is there any "trunk money" out there for the new model yet. The dealer will not sell the car if they are going to lose money -- you can take that to the bank!

But but but...my CA said they were practically giving the car to me at a loss!

Standard reply: And if I spend too much on this car I won't be able to feed mine either.

About a decade ago, when shopping for a 330xi, the salesman said:

"You have to earn the right to purchase this car..."

walked away fast...

I had a dealership up here tell me that I looked too young to be able to afford a BMW. I'm 32. Morons.

That seems to be a good deal. If you can afford it, I would say go get the tech package, if not for your own enjoyment/usefulness, perhaps for resale value. If you are planning on keep the car forever, it shouldn't matter. But otherwise, stripped bmw usually do not sell well against loaded one, heck, I know I would expect luxury items in a BMW.

Thanks M Power....I thought the deal sounded good...I went there for the "X3 difference event" so I'm thinking they have an attach rate too so maybe there's some spiff they get...I mean the whole process was pretty easy so far....they are like 6% off MSRP which according to truecar is right in line and also seems to be what most people are getting around here.

On the NAV good points as well....I'm going to keep it a very long time so you are right it won't matter in the end...I'm def leaning towards it.

I just need to decide on the wheels now... I just noticed that the tech package doesn't come with the 19 inch 309 style and it's an extra charge. I'm not sure if I like the 309's better than the 308s b/c the 308s are very different...also the 19's make me nervous living in northeast with potholes and such.

Have you looked into the M Double Spoke 369 Rims? Not sure if it will only be available in the M-sport package, but the rims are listed in the accessories (off the main BMW site) link.

In the valley here none of the premium dealerships will ever tell a customer YOU ARE TOO YOUNG to buy this Lambo, MB, Jag, Bimmer, etc. Too many 23 year old gazilionaires flush with buyout money running around.
