I called the tracking number today and finally, instead of saying released to carrier, it said "in trasit"!! Hopefully this means it's finally on the truck and on it's way!

Ugh...mine still says "released to carrier." Mine finished production on 3/31 -- when did yours complete production?

I just got a quote on a 2012 BMW X5 3.5 Sports activity. MSRP is $63,975. The options included are: Multi-contoured seats, cold weather pkge., sirius radio, and running boards. It has the 20" wheels/tires. They quoted me $60,875 without much pushing on my end. Is that a good start? Is it a good price? What is a great price?

They also valued my trade-in at $35,000. It is a 2010 Volvo XC60 r-design. It has 17,000 miles on it. The MSRP was $47,900.

What do you think?

Mine was completed on either 3/31 or 4/1, I'm not entirely sure. Of course, when I call back now, it says "released to carrier" again. But, last time that I called twice in one day, it did the same thing and the more updated status wound up being the correct one.

You should really go to edmunds or one of the other sites that shows invoice pricing. If you ask your CA, he may even show you his computer, which lists invoice on it. You should be able to get them to $1000 over invoice, or possibly even a little better than that. If you didn't push to get the price and that's just what they gave you, you can probably do better. Tell them the price you need to hear to sign the paper right then and if it's reasonable (about $1000 over invoice), they should do it.

Dealer now says mine will be here as early as Friday and has yet to be assigned a truck.

I talked to my dealer today, and got the same thing as you. Apparently, they still have not been released, but should be around Wednesday. He said it could then get to MD in as soon as a day or too. Really just gonna depend on when they're finally released. The 50's have already been, but 35's have not.

Not gonna lie, it's getting a bit annoying...knowing it's just sitting there completed, but waiting on the government to say ok. But, could be as soon as a week, so hoping for the best.

Mine completed production on 4/5 and it's status is still "Your vehicle is at the port waiting for a shipping vessel, there is no shipping information avaliable at this time". I don't think I'm gonno receive it any time soon

Am in the same boat, no change in status for a week or so now, good news was that the government did not shut down. That would have left us with no EPA and an even longer delay...

Now I'm wondering how long shipping is going to take, with the huge backlog of cars that they're probably piling up while waiting on the government.

Looking forward to them! I'm assuming the 35's online are for those that are expected, not delivered, since my CA is saying they should get approval to start shipping around Wednesday.

Painful long wait, renegotiate everything, take the VIN etching out of the deal, no I dont want paint protection, no I dont want ______....
Left the dealership at 10. Too tired to actually try the car for real, but one thing is for sure, multicontour seats are phenomenal. The car handles and accelerates ignoring its own weight.

PS- No 6 cyl until next week, even for people that ordered way before me. Apparently the EPA rumors are true. Diesel only in sep/oct. No 40d this year (MY12)
BMW APR is 2.9 for 36 months

So why do people think the 50s aren't caught up in the EPA thing? The N55 35i was sold last model year too...
