My road trip vs MPG
For what its worth...
Took my first road trip with the vert from Foster City CA to Santa Barbara CA. Around 315 miles one way. 80 mph average speed and 23.7 mpg on the way there and 70 mph average speed, 22.6 mpg on the way back. There are some hills to climb on the way back. I guess that's pretty decent for our bimmers right?

When I drive on the fwy a long distance, I get thous type of mpg. When mix with city, it drops down to 17-18 mpg.
Question is how to get city driving to 20+mpg. Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using Bimmer App

I average 16-17 just in city driving. With the manual, you are able to disengage the transmission and coast to a stop a lot of times. Since the city has a stop light at every intersection, I tend to just move off in first and disengage and the car has enough momentum to reach the other light. If you catch the timing of the lights then you can just keep on rolling and shift to 2nd and so on. I'm planning a trip to DC soon so I am dying to see what I can get on the highway.

We must be leadfoot drivers. 13.8 mpg
Charge what they want for gas. I will still stomp it. |

I get 18 around town, & 28 on the hwy @ 80MPH. Maybe the 645 is a more efficient engine.

That's not that bad running at 80MPH. I figured that will be about my average speed. I love that 1 mile bridge "JFK memorial Hwy".
