Flasher relay on 88 735i HELP!!!!

OK first of all my flasher turn signal and hazard signal went dead not even a beep. so i went trough some threads on here and found out it most likely is my flasher relay. so i opened up the bottom of the dash and the only relay i see is connected to a old alarm system that i guess the old owner had put in cause it doesn't work. there is a wire from that going towards the turn switch. SO NOW JUST WONDERING IF I HAVE THE RIGHT RELAY AND IF THAT OLD ALARM SYSTEM HAS ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE RELAY BEING OUT? PS...REALLY NEED SOME HELP ON THIS ONE BOYS THANKS IN ADVANCE
