Question Oil change intervals

Hi,
Does any one know what is the oil change intervals here in NA for BMWs? (specially the new X3s)
In Europe we used to change the oil every 30,000km
I know it partly has to do with the oil quality, whether conditions,...
I've heard in NA it is every 8,000km??!!!! Is that true???
thx

I change my oil every 10000kms no mater what never went over that. It will never hurt the car. Plus it's not really about the oil as it is about ur oil filter. Synthetic oil will last but filter won't. I recommend every 10000k. What ever BMW says about it I don't agree. Like in my 745 li it says life time trunny oil. Yeah right. Maybe lifetime for old ppl that usually by them. J/k

The oil change intervals are the same in North America as in Europe, every 30000km or 18000 mi. You can do an intermediate change if you wish, just don't reset the CBS.

The oil quality is no different if you buy the correct BMW LL-01 spec. Its the petrol quality that pales in comparison........
