Broken Tail Light Lens

An idiot hit me tonight. Broke the lens on the reverse on the right and the brake on the left.

can the lenses be purchased without the assembly? If they cannot, is there a repair kit that can be used then the hole is about a cm long?

Sorry there is no repair kit and yes you have to buy the whole thing. I would suggest going to mye28.com and buy a set. Depending on condition, look to pay 25 to 45 for each plus shipping. I do have the right one, but it is only in OK condition for 25 plus shipping.

There are ways to repair plastic lenses, using polyester resins (similar to epoxy). You can try using a fast set clear epoxy and some clear plastic tape as a form. You can then paint the red or yellow or whatever color on the inside. You'll probably have to remove the lenses to do this so be careful with the rubber gaskets. If you want the best results, you should just probably replace both sides though. I've done it on different vehicles and signs and such and the results can vary, plus the elements (sun, heat, cold, water, ice) will affect the repair in time.
