525i manual swap to 535i?

Hey guy's
im new to this forum,as in i only just made and account but i have been reading the forums extensively.

Anyway i own a 525i e34 1990 original manual how ever i had an accident and the car got fairly damaged and isn't worth fixing. So now im on the hunt for another e34 and i was wondering what models of the e34 my manual box / drive shalf would fit into?

You can make the 260 getrag work in a m50 525i. But you have to modify the shifter. You can use the fly wheel and clutch in a m50, but you have to also use your starter. Beyond that I do not believe that your tranny will work in other e34s.

Thanks for your reply andy, but i actually just bought another 525i manual right after i posted this post so im no long repairing my crashed 525i not anytime soon.

The transmission you have will only work on an m50.

Sorry TWard, but you are wrong, the tranny he has is for a M20 since his car is a 1990 525i, but it can be made to work on a m50.
