BMW 745i

Hi folks -

I have had a 745i for almost five years - dealer just informed me that i have a Mechatronic sealing sleeve leak. he is quoting $837 to replace the Mechatronic sealing sleeve and transmission pan. Is this way out of line or is a reasonable price? Is this something I should attempt to do on my own? Thanks
