Replacement tires for X-3

My 2008 X-3 was equipped with Michelin XSE's. I now have 72000 miles and still plenty of tread left for another 5000.

I am ready to replace them and although very expensive, almost $1400.00 at my dealer, I am leaning to another set. But the price is really a barrier.

What alternate tire is recommended. My driving is about 50/50 highway and local. I am looking for added mileage (now ave. 27 MPG) and a comfortable ride. I am in Massachusetts and snow/wet weather is also a concern.

Any ideas, please.

X-3 Tires

Just a short follow-up, I chose to purchase a new set of Michelin's. Very pricey, but 72K on the original set is a hellava sales tool.

Also very interesting is that I still have the original brakes on the car with 72K miles. Had them checked when the tires were installed and the report is a 7 rating on the fronts and 6 on the back. I may never change them!

Really quite a car, probably the best I have ever owned and that's a long list of Audi's, Mercedes and Jeeps.
