08 335i CPO but with HPFP, transmission leaks and brake light issues. Should I buy?

Hi All,

First time poster..I am in the market for a 08 335i and have been searching cars for the last 3 months. I live in AZ, and I believe I found the car I wanted in CA. It is an 08 335i with Premium package , Nav, 33K miles and priced around $30K. I test drove the car and it drives nice. However, the service record for the car was disappointing. It had the much dreaded HPFP failure at 22K miles and transmission fluid leak at 30K. It also had some minor issues like comfort access problems with the door handle and brake lights.

The question now is whether this service record (all under 30K miles) is an indicator of a problem car and potential thousands of dollars in maintenance. Should I avoid it and move on ? Opinions ? Suggestions ?

Nothing at all to be concerned about. The HPFP issue is history, you can check to make sure the tranmission leak is dry, and door handle/brake light issues, they're fixed.
Your warranty still has lots of room to take care of any other issues which arise.
Have an indy mechanic look it over and if it's good, buy it.

Here's a free bump back to the top, welcome to Bimmerfest. Hang on.

sounds like a pretty good price, the problems are in the past and the cpo will have you covered up to 100k anyways, make sure all the problems were really fixed, and try to get them down a bit since it has a lass than perfect history! could be used to your advantage.

No sport package? Sport seats are a must IMHO.

Unfortunately no. I am trying to convince myself that I can live without the Sports Package. I initially set out to look for something with Prem+Sports+iDrive. It looks like I have to compromise on something to get the right price...

didn't realize it was missing the sport package, I have the same options as your goal options, and it took me a while to find, almost did the same as you and settled sans sport, but held out and I'm glad I did.

hold out for one with sports package...the car drives like a cadillac without it...maybe it's an exaggeration, but it kinda feels that way...If you are looking for a sedan, look for one with the winter package so you can have fold down rear seats...

"...maybe it's an exaggeration,...." You think?

Nothing wrong with the non-sport suspension. It is a better choice for a daily drive. It's just not as responsive. But it ain't no Cadillac.

It's all a matter of personal taste.

You are more than welcome to buy mine. Haven't had nearly as many issues!
