As I posted, I dig the car. Just a tad bit disappointed at its genesis.

FWIW, I was at the dealer yesterday as our 135 needed to have its passenger side LED taillight replaced (premature failure). I drove the 335d as we might be looking at that as a replacement for the M3 later this year. I inquired about the 1M; they are only getting a couple and they are marking them up $5,000. Almost $60K if you get both packages offered. Lovely.

That's not a common practice in my experience. None of my area dealers were marking up the 1M, but limited availability is definitely an issue for all of them, so I'm not surprised to hear that some are marking them up. I have a deposit on the next available production slot with my dealer, which will be the second 1M for them, and possibly the last.

Anyone want to buy a 335d?

Was this over at Chapman BMW on Ray Rd? If so, not surprising at all for them to do something like that...

Not surprised at all by this. I also had an order in at Chapman BMW, the SA assured me the price would be MSRP. I got a call some time later saying the Management had decided to mark up all 1M's by $5K or greater.

I will stick with my local dealer who doesn't mark up the price but won't get the cars until later in the year.
