Finished my cooling system, thanks guys!
Hey all, finished my cooling system yesterday. Replaced everything, water pump, fan clutch, thermostat, radiator, hoses, belts, etc. Just wanted to thank everyone on this site for the great resources.
My few tips to add from my experience: As I believe bluebee recommends, order an extra radiator nipple. I finished my entire system and then immediately broke that off so it was great to have extras. Also, I thought bleeding was much easier with the car jacked up. Lastly, the fan clutch counter holder is probably helpful but CN90's recommendation with lodging a screwdriver by the nut worked just fine for me. Thanks again guys, Dan

I'll add your recommendations to the cooling-system-overhaul tools thread so that others benefit. If you have a dremel tool (or a hacksaw), it would be great to see an expansion tank autopsy. - Request for a better Behr expansion tank autopsy (1) |
