Berlin or Switzerland/Austria?
on an ED, would you rather visit Austria(Innsbruck), and Switzerland, or take a trip up to Berlin?

I would only make Berlin a stop on a more in-depth Northern Germany trip.
Berlin is a huge city and best explored on foot, not in a new BMW. Enjoy the car and visit the harder to reach small towns that Germany, Switzerland, Italy, and France have to offer, all of which are within reasonable driving distances from Munich.

Another vote for Austria and Switzerland. Berlin is a big city, and like most big cities, not suitable for driving.

Last I knew they don't have awesome alpine roads in Berlin.
On the other hand, if you want misanthropic youths, dressed in black and listening to bad techno music, then Berlin is the place for you. In all seriousness, I love Berlin, but on an ED I would head south out of Munich. |

The only thing you'll get to do with your car in Berlin is practice your parking skills. If you want to drive your car head to Switzerland and/or Austria and stay out of big cities

As everyone else has pointed out, it all depends on what you want. I have made five trips to Berlin since 1999, and there is still lots more to see and do. But NONE of them were with my own car. If you do drive, remember that everything within the S-Bahn ring is an Umweltzone.

Another vote for Austria and Switzerland.
We drove on the Alpenstrasse (305) from Berchtesgaden to Bernau am Chiemsee and then took the Autobahn to Innsbruck. The next day we drove from Innsbruck to Füssen via Mittenwald and Garmish-Partinkerchen, again on parts of the Alpenstrasse. This was some of the most enjoyable driving and scenery of our trip. The next day we drove from Füssen to Lauterbrunnen, parked our car, and took a cable car up to Mürren, where we stayed for two days at Hotel Alpina. While there we took the Jungfraubahn up to the Jungfraujoch and took the Mürrenbahn up to Shilthorn, home of the Piz Gloria restaurant. The scenery and the views in the Swiss Alps are awesome, breathtaking and stunning. Words don't do them justice. One of the views from the balcony of our hotel room:
