airbag reset tool.

2003 BMW 325i
I spilled a soda onto and into the drivers seat belt buckle and side lower seat belt wiring.
This caused the airbag light to come on.
I ordered something called a B800 airbag tool off the internet.
There are multiple sellers of this tool on internet for about $40 USA delivered(google:some even offer 5% off coupon) and even more on E-bay for about $60-$70 USA delivered.
The tool took about two weeks to arrive.
It came with the older round connector and newer OBDII connector.
It read multiple error codes and then i erased them..basically error was a fault to ground caused by soda spill.
It seemed like i had to cycle through a few times to erase each code.
Spent maybe 5 minutes on it to clear light.
I also had to plug it in first and then turn key to avoid "E" error since the diagnostic bus seemed hung-up.
Tool seemed to read and function very similar to a known tool.
Book seemed rather similar also....
Note:
THERE IS NO PRODUCT SUPPORT FOR THIS TOOL and return shipping is not cost effective.
here is a youtube link that someone posted in the past.

Interesting.

I did a /srs in the E39 bestlinks to find this related info which should apply equally well to the E46:
- What can cause an SRS airbag light (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) (6) & what tools reset the fault (1) (2) (3) (4) (5)
