idrive problem

There is something wrong with my idrive, it just spins out of control once in a while i think someone spilled their drink on it, dose anyone know how much it cost to fix that or is there a way i can fix it myself

Someone else had this problem on here. They sprayed it out with electrical contact cleaner and everything worked fine.

take off the knob first, of course. It is very simple - just pull straight up!

Hi, if the fix does not work you often find them for sale on Ebay, simple change and I don't think you need to go anywhere near the dealer....... just a thought!!!

Ive taken mine all the way apart and unplugged the sport mode to do some cleaning. Its very easy, yet awkward putting back on. You have to have the black piece backwards, lock it into a groove and roatate into place. Also in regards to the other post, depending on how my car sells i will get back to you on if i part it out. I can also help you install any of them if needed. Best of luck with i drive!
