Z4 M diagonal brace attach bolt

I had to drop the diagonal braces to install my short shift kit. I ordered new bolts per the realm web site. Part number 07119905655 this is a M10X40-10.9ZNS3 hex bolt. But when I removed the existing bolts they are much longer. Sorry I should have taken pictures and measurements. I measured the new bolts and they are 40mm per spec. I'm afraid to install the new bolts they just don't seem long enough. Any one else run into this? See item 18 in the attached diagram.
