X3 F25 (2011 - 2017)
The second generation X3 added style and new features to the BMW's mid-sized SUV. Talk about the BMW F25 X3 with other X3 owners now!

BMW Factory Tour

I went on the BMW factory tour in SC yesterday. It was phenomenal! Anyone interested in how they actually build BMWs should go on the tour and see the Zentrum. The X3s are built in their new building which isn't on the tour, but you do get to see them going through the paint process. The tour takes you right through the X5 and X6 build process. Literally, you walk through sparks flying from the welding robots. Susan directed our 1.5 hour tour and she did a terrific job explaining the process and answering questions.

I tried to get a X3 factory tour for my PCD in the am, as this will be my 5th Spartanburg Factory tour of the X5 production, but no go. It is some experience.

Just wondering, can you just show up or is a reservation for the tour needed?

Reservations are absolutely required, but if you have a delivery at the Performance Center they add the X5/X6 tour (they call these the VIP tours!). Reservations are made by phone at 1-888-Tour-BMW (868-7269) and they have a website, http://bmwusfactory.com/ with a lot of info. The cost of admission is low. $7.00 general admission and only $3.50 BMWCCA members. Glad to be a 15 year member of BMWCCA!
