Pops/screeching when rolling up windows?
I'm having a tiny issue with my new X3 and wondered if anyone else had experienced the same. The car is a week old to me and yesterday I rolled down the back windows and passenger window for the first time... When rolling up the passenger window there is minor light popping or crinkling noise (don't know how else to describe it) when the window is within about 6" of the top. Tried multiple times and it seemed to happen all the time. Back window, right side, has a screeching noise for the travel up to the top, again, it's pretty low volume but sounds like either the rubber seal is just super sticky or something within the door is scratching the window. Left side rear window is somewhat normal - but experiences a light popping near the top of it's travel like the passenger window. It's been 108 here in Vegas and the car is parked outside during the day. When I got home I cleaned all the windows to make certain nothing was binding/dragging and everything looked good. This morning I tried the windows again and they all sounded the same as yesterday (it was 80 outside).
So, has anyone experienced anything like this? Did it go away on it's own? |

Haven't heard anything when putting up or down the windows in the month I've had mine. Doesn't sound normal.

Happens a lot on all brand new cars with the new rubber seals. Every car I have owned recently has had the same squeegee sound "problem" raising and lowering the windows to a different degree -- some loud some not so much. Kind of a "squeeky clean" thing my grand daughter says.
It will go away soon I am sure.

Had that issue on my new 335i last year, I think its what was already said, its just part of the new seals. I just goes away after a bit.

I applied a little leather conditioner to the rubber seal track and it quieted it right up - thank you for the words!
