Bluetooth "box" that goes where the Motorola phone went originally?

Hello,

A while ago I used to work at car auctions. I was moving an '04 745 one time and I came across something that surprised me. When I opened the center console I found a 3x3 inch box that fit right where the phone should. It said "bluetooth" on it. Can you pair that thing with your phone like you would pair your phone in the new cars? If that's the case I would like to get one but don't really know what the thing is called...

BTW I want to put an aux input in my car- question is: If the phone that goes in the cradle works with the car speakers and microphone in the car, is there any way to plug in the aux input through there? Just curious...

Make sure you get the right one for your car. If you have a curled cord attached to the unit in the center console you need the btum 8000.... No curled cord ....9000.
That all you need for Bluetooth

Thanks No cord so it's deff gonna be the 9000

I know it's plug and play Figured that wouldn't make a difference if I was just digging for a diagram. I guess they don't want people making them themselves, so no diagrams ever got released lol

only '02s and early '03s had the 8000,

the rest have the 9000, his is an '05 so it will have to be the 9000

the 9000 sounds and people hear you a lot clearer than the 8000

Dang! I just tried it again and my phone is not even discovering the bluetooth device. The BTUM 9000's blue light is blinking but no love. The old V60 phone is in the car but its dead. It won't work for anything so that's not causing any problems. I also tried to connect my iphone 3G to it and the same thing. I'm thinking my BTUM 9000 is not sending out a signal. That's all I can come up with as the possible problem.

Maybe the BTUM 9000 is not in pairing mode try holding down the button for greater than 3 secs to reset it.
