fuel line question
with the 535i i just bought, its not running right. i pulled the fuel line off of the fuel pressure regulator thats right on top of the front of the engine. when i turned the key forward no fuel came out. when i cranked it over fuel flows out of the fuel pressure regulator instead of the fuel line. did someone cross these lines sometime in the past? or am i missing something

The regulator controls the pressure of the fuel at the injectors by varying the amount of fuel that it lets return to the tank. If the fuel comes out of the top line (smaller) then your diaphragm is bad and you need a new FPR. By the way, it will only pump fuel when cranking and for 2 seconds if the engine doesn't run (safety).
