Is there a way to order the car without front license plater holder?

I know it probably varies from what state you live in, my order status is still 111 but please let me know, I think the front license plate holder kills the look of the car completely...

The front license plate bracket will come with your X3 and it will be your choice if you want to install or not, regardless of local laws. Just be sure to tell your dealer not to install and you should be good to go. If the bracket is not installed there will be no holes on your front bumper. There are 2 points under the bumper that the bracket hooks into and they are not visible when no bracket is in place.

In CA you may have to sign something to the effect that you do not want the dealer to install the bracket. It is against the law to drive in the state without a front plate and (with the shortage of money) the tickets are being issued as we write. Others will tell you they have driven in CA for days/months/years without a problem -- however that was then, this is now. Does it really look all that much better without a plate? In any event, get the bracket you will need it when you trade/sell the car later.

I never installed the front license plate holder on my Z3 that I had for 10 years. And when I picked up my X3 two weeks ago, the dealer handed me the plate holder for the car and said they'd install it if I wanted them to. I won't put it on unless forced to (by getting a ticket). But so far, I've been driving the car like the little old lady from Pasadena so the chances of that happening are slim (I hope).

Anyone know where I can get a protective force field to completely envelope my car?

It arrives from the factory without the front license plate holder installed - it is in a plastic bag with accessories. If you want to install it, there are two slots under the bumper that it slips into and you have to drill two holes for two screws.
