Like much about the X3, except the satin roof rails

Just pulled the trigger on a black 35i. As much as I wanted the option of throwing some crossbars on the roof, I thought the aluminum satin roof rails ruined the look of the car. They might be tolerable with other vehicle colors, but I didn't like how they looked with black at all. I have until Monday morning to change my mind, but I doubt I will.

Happy with everything else, though

Lightbulb Black Rails

I had the same concern, so I found the part nos for the black rails that will come on the M kit. But a check of parts inventory in both the US and Deutchland showed non available or scheduled availability. Nussen!

Well, I solved the "problem" by calling the dealer and switching my color choice from Black to Space Gray and ordering the roof rails. Although I'm a huge fan of black cars, I did find that the lines of the X3 popped more on with the Space Gray.

My dearly departed 09 3 series was Space Gray. It's a lovely colour. And it's so much easier to maintain than black.

Spot on, this is the colour of my choice and for the same reason, dark colours kill the shoulder lines. Lighter colours, speacially space gray, then titanium silver highlight the lines. And a Chestnut interior to go with...

I wish I couldve ordered the satin rails, but they're M sport pig only on the X5. They look sick in Red.
