A/C not working

So the air conditioning was repaired at the dealership last summer. Now it only blows hot air.

A couple months ago the heater wasn't working so I had it taken in and a hose to the coolant tank was leaking so that was fixed and apparently the system was bled too. Heater works fine now.

Just wondering what could be wrong with the a/c.

This might be a silly question, but have you tried recharging it with R134A? If they fixed the hose and didn't recharge the system, that could be it. Can you hear the compressor kick on when you hit the A/C button?

The big step is to determine if the compressor is turning. If not, need to figure out why. Could be low 134a in system (low pressure) or a fuse blown. My problem started out with low pressure due to a leak in the evaporator (in the dash). Before I confirmed the evaporator, putting more 134a solved the problem for a couple of days and then stopped again. I eventually determined the problem to be the leaking evaporator. But once I fixed that, about 9 months later, my compressor siezed and made all kinds of ugly noises. After I replaced the compressor, it did not work but then discovered that fuse had blown.

If the compressor is turning, feel the hose from the compressor to see if one is cold. If so, that will be an usual problem since the compressor is working. Probably something wrong in the dash that is blocking the cold air. If both hoses are warm, then the 134a is low but that would be odd since the low pressure should have turned off the compressor.

So, the big question, is "Is the compressor turning?" You should be able to see the clutch engage the compressor. Have someone turn on/off the A/C button while you are staring at the compressor. You should see/hear the clutch engage the compressor.

I'll have to check the fuses. Also when I turn the a/c on it almost smells like something is burning.
