Does the dvd also enable Internet / BMW Online in motion?

This only enables the DVD on Nav idrive screen while the car is in motion nothing else. The car has some internet features by default but you need to subscribe to the BMW assist Convienance feature which is an additional 199 if you have 2011-12 model you should have some access just with idrive |

Rear Seat Entertainment Professional
I installed the DVDinMotion flawlessly into my ride.
As I have the Rear Seat Entertainment for my ride, can anyone advise how to set the rear monitors to view the same movie as the front DVD player or vice versa?? I have tried to play the DVD from the rear seat DVD Player but it will not show on the front monitor. Is there anyway to get around this?? Now that I have the DVDinMotion installed, what do I need to watch local TV. Pls help!!

set to driver priority, then you will see select rear source, you can select the same DVD as the front. Simple.

Rear Seat Entertainment Professional
Good day spadae2,
I've tried inserting the DVD disk into the rear DVD player and select driver priority..., then select select rear source..., the video played, I can hear the sound but not video. Message on the screen reads " Video unable to play from the rear DVD.... Then I've tried inserting the DVD disk into the front DVD player and same result. Guess it's not that easy after all ?? Any input??

Rykiel...
To watch TV you will need some sort of satellite reciever installed... Regarding the issues between the front and rear tvs I would contact Lucie at DVD in Motion. They have always been extremely helpful with any troubleshooting. Just my $.02

Another positive for DVD in Motion
Just took possession of my 535xi 2011 M sport (dark metallic gray II) and one of the first things I did was to install DVD in Motion. Works perfectly. As everyone already knows, the company is extremely responsive.
I managed to stream Netflix Instant View from my iPhone4 (in the cradle) to the dashboard while the car was in motion. This was trickly and I haven't figured it out a second time. Anyone else done this? I would like to know how to repeat it! John M |

Also I tried to play video via USB and Hard Drive (after upload videos onto the hard drive) - but it appears BMW doesn't support it. Need to play around more. It would be nice to be able to play video directly off the internal hard drive instead of DVD.

I bought the dvdinmotion through the bimmerfest link this morning, had a speedy response from Lucie with a link to download.
Followed the instruction to the letter and it worked like a dream, anyone a little sceptical I can assure you the upgrade is easy & works perfectly. My F01 is a UK car also, no need for any UK owners to worry. Go for it, it's a great upgrade at a reasonable cost |

so i assume this is a real software disabling of the safety feature that turns the tv off when driving, and not a hack or jerry rigg of the system that detects the car is moving right? if this is a real software fix without bypass then it is really a good system. some systems that bypass the safety by tricking it to believe it is still parked has side effects like gps not functioning properly, or some sort of work around or tweak to get the other features to work properly.

The files are specific to your VIN.
If you want to 'look' at it, please go ahead and buy it

I just installed on my 2012 BMW 750i that I purchased today. Runs GREAT. I emailed Lucie to confirm it will work on my vehicle. She replied right away. It's so sweet. Playing videos now from my iPhone in the cradle dock.

[QUOTE=dingus;6057293]I would get this except for three reasons:
1. Despite all the assurances otherwise I'm paranoid about it messing something up or having warranty issues. The last thing I want to do is go hacking around with a new $100k+ car. ![]() 2. I already have rear DVD 3. I was just telling my brother the other day that this car has too many toys keeping me distracted while I'm driving. So front screen DVD is the last thing I purchased 2 of these a couple of months ago. f01 & F07. I have had the F01 in for camera warranty issues which does require I drive software calibration. Before I put the car in I simply disable the DVD in motion which is very simple and takes no more than 2 minuets. It literally requires inserting the DVD software twice and that's it. On my cars the cameras are not active whilst the car is on the move, but the owners hand book is viewable on the move. Would love to have the rear camera active whilst in motion! |

The rear camera will work while in motion but only for about a min. all you have to do is hit the camera button next too you shifter and then on the I drive screen choose rear. The front ones also work in this manner.
