Cooling System Mod.
I was driving around in heavy traffic this afternoon with the temp outside about 95 degrees (fahrenheit). I put the air on and noticed the temp gauge going higher than usual. I found the problem to be a bad aux electric cooling fan switch. There's two, the upper temp one which is supposed to open at 99 degreees centigrade and the lower temp switch opens at 91 degrees. The acceptable mod is to change the setup so you have an 82 degree low temp switch and use the 91 degree for the high temp circuit. They're right next to each other on the side of the radiator and the wire connections are almost the same. So I replaced the bad 99 with a new 82 and switched the wires around so now the 82 is the low temp switch and the 91 is the high temp switch. Seems to work better and it's a cheap way to improve the cooling system.
