The N55 engine does not use a twin turbo. It uses a single turbo with twin scrolls. The previous N54 engine was a twin turbo design.

I bought my 535i right around the time they first came out, July 2010, and I was happy with the deal. It wasn't nearly as good as what people are seeming to work now, but then, is everyone honest on the forum? Maybe, maybe not. Figure you might be able to get a deal near invoice and work it from there. It's really not all that difficult IMO. Decide on what your limit is and be prepared to reject anything higher. Do you really think if you tell your dealer "well Joe on bimmerfest got $200 over invoice" it will amount to anything for your dealer? If you can't get the deal you want, you might need to rethink your purchase.
I have purchased many cars. I agree with most of what you have said, but if enough people are able to give the OP and idea of what they paid, it will help him to avoid being put over a barrel, that's all I'm trying to point out.

Not sure what you mean. The N55 535i engine is not a twin turbo. The previous N54 version had two turbos, thus a "twin turbo". He is correct that the '12 528i will use a turbo 4-cylinder.

Remember that the 2012 528 is a FOUR CYLINDER and many enthusiasts feel a 4 cylinder motor has no place in a $60,000 car. Doesn't matter if they are right or wrong, but there will likely be fewer interested buyers when you are ready to sell.

Add to that the fact that 2012 is the first year for this motor, and BMW's history is pretty miserable in this regard. Most experienced buyers will steer clear of a used car with first year motor.

This is not a concern if you are leasing, but if you are buying I think the 535 is a much safer choice.

Sounds like leasing a 2012 528 would be the way to go given the uncertainty of performance and market acceptance of the new engine.
