e23 wood trim... Shiny or satin from factory???
I'm working on restoring a 1984 BMW 733i and I want to make it look just like it came from the dealership brand new. The wood is in mint condition but I can see around the shifter the lacquer or clear coat is flaking off. The rest of the wood in the car has a slight shine left, but is rough to the touch. I know over time the wood has dried out and the coating would have worn out.
Now what my question is, was it shiny from factory and what just standard clear coat or lacquer used???

Don't you hate when nobody answers you!?
My low mile and garage kept 735i has wood that's a satin finish. |
