7 Series - E65 / E66 (2002 - 2008)
Discussion of BMW's 4th generation E65/E66 7 Series flagship. The E65 generated much controversy, due to its radical styling and iDrive user difficulties. Nonetheless, the E65 broke records to become the best-selling 7-series iteration ever, especially after its 2005 facelift.

TRADE 03' 530i for 180K miles 04' 745li

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post here. I have had a few BMWs over the last 7 years including a 2000 540i, 2001 530i, 2004 545i, and my current 2003 530i. My current car has 94K miles and I am considering trading it plus $2000 for a 2004 745li with 180K miles! I know I know very high mileage. The car is a one owner that was owned by a livery driver who did all regular maintenance and had all problems fixed at the dealer asap. My question is whether or not you think I should expect any major issues from 180K to 225K if the previous owner fixed issues as they arose and properly maintained the car? Also, what do you think of the deal? My car plus $2k? Many thanks for quick replies as I am considering doing quickly.

I would diagnose the car for fault codes ,if it doens't show fault codes, take it for a spin.
If the car drives fine ,i would buy it.

At that mielage i would check everything someone mentioned especially the weep hole leak plus the suspension which include control arms, sway bars, the electrical part of the suspension, all electrical parts of the car including amp, ask, nav,. But if you want my opionion i wouldnt get it you can find one with much lower mileage that would be in better shape imo.
