To the OP: I can wholeheartedly understand how even the tiniest things can interfere with happiness...do whatever would make you happy!
My mother once had a house custom-built and for almost a year after it was finished she would have contractors in and out repairing tiny flaws...2 years later she sold it and had another built the way she wanted it.

Honestly, not sure. Mercedes CLS, but it's too expensive. Don't really like the looks of the E Class, but I'd probably go back to a Mercedes.

How about the 6 - quality wise would you look at it?
the quality of materials seems superior on the 6...(well...at 90 K of course..) disregard the fact that is a coupe. |

The 6 will actually be more expensive than the CLS I believe, and as nice as it is, sitting inside it, I actually preferred the 5's interior design, and I didn't find the materials to be superior in the 6 really. IMO the 6 even beats the CLS in "rip-off" factor, considering it's a two door 5-Series with identical drivetrain and tech, etc.

but if you pay close attention the materials are better starting from the seats that have side bolsters and the back of your headrest is so soft and seamless when you tilt it to wrap around your head comparing with the fake internal plastic sensation of the current F10's seats... Then there is the ceramic buttons that now will be an option in 2012 F10's |

all buttons and controls to be ceramic? or its just the i- drive knobs and the shifter thats ceramic? I mean hopefully ceramic wouldn't wear off...for a $600 premium...(when you have already paid thousands) |

Yes, a wheel bearing on the driver's side front. One day, my F10 started making an odd noise, I brought it in for a check up, and the dealer said that they needed to replace the wheel bearing. I previously started a thread on this to report it to the forum.

Your damage is very different than mine. My rims just had some minor scrapes and curb rash. I am not even going to attempt to guess how the service department did that to your rim. Actually, the bigger offense is not the damage but rather it is that they handed your vehicle back to you with that damage.

Speaking of annoying little issues that could drive some of us crazies crazy. Today I got my plates, and of course, I realize that I put my stickers on the plate that has two razor-blade-like cut marks going through two of the blue numbers.
Friggin' ANNOYING!!!! Haven't had the best luck lately in some areas, need to just suck it up and wait for the big turn-around.

I love my car, but am beginning to question the wisdom of my willingness to be continuously in compromise mode with this car with it's deficiencies: tire debacles, dealer installations of software updates that three days later, prove to be corrupted -- we all know what's on the list, etc. The compromise is that there are so many things I love about the car that I tolerate the flaws. The question is, how long will I be willing to do this?
I'm having these thoughts immediately after taking delivery of a Volvo XC60 for my wife. I never considered a Volvo, and I'm not an SUV or crossover guy at all. However, this car delivers EVERYTHING it promises and is totally competent and pleasant to drive. I'm blown away at how good it is. Time will tell on reliability, but when you have these insane thoughts of asking for regular seat time in your wife's XC60 when your car is an F10, that's a scary thought. |
