Dash Lights out in Instrument Cluster

Just picked up the car and the fuses are fine but none of the instruments illuminate. Where should I begin checking? Thanks.

Fusebox, battery, light switch, any and all electrical connections including chassis grounds, etc. Old cars are prone to corrosion and poor electrical contact. Corrosion can exist inside of the insulation where you don't see it. Get a test light. You may want to remove the instrument cluster and check the bulbs and connectors.
