matt is the contender here. we have atvs, dirt bikes, a 28ft long enclosed trailer, a 34ft long camper trailer, two trucks (05 ram 3/4 ton and 06 1/2 ton), my impala, the parts e36, my dd e36, my moms cadilliac, and now soon my brothers truck. also we have 3 55gal drums scattered through the yard, and two harleys, on top of thje usual lawnmower and utility cart that sits outside next to the firewood pile. also scattered around my garage are e36 parts too big to keep in the garage. the garage has 2 engines, 2 transmissions, and an entire e36 coupe minus the shell. this is also in suburbanland, the inspector/sheriff has been here so much they know us on the top of their head. haha

It's nothing special, but here's a time-lapse video of me changing the valve cover gasket on my friends 525i. Camera battery died soon after I got the old gasket out of there...
![]() The part where I repeatedly stick something into the plug wells is when I was sopping up all the oil before getting ready to pull the plugs.

It is quite easy. You just need to follow a few key steps to do it right. Those steps are:
1) clean all gasket surfaces. 2) use valve cover gasket RTV in the proper locations. 3) use a torque wrench during re-installation. 4) torque down valve cover retaining nuts gradually, and in a crisscross pattern. 5) don't rush, and double check.
