Can Anyone Check SIB650709 (Nav Issue?)

It was stated in another thread that SIB650709 was related to our lousy Navigation systems.
Anyone able to check and maybe post it?

Response on E90 board said SIB just blames the map supplier. BMW accepts no blame. Surprise!!

If true, it would seem to be technically correct, but unwise from a consumer relations perspective.

It maybe the map supplier. My six year old neighborhood is not on these maps. I reported this ( to Telemaps) and they said it is an issue and they are working on it. It's been about three weeks.

I agree, the map info is clearly not as up to date as my Tom-Tom maps.

BUT, the software algorithms are just plain screwy!

I can stop at a spot on my way to work which is 9.8 miles away.
I choose "Shortest" and no other check-boxes.
Nav picks 15.8 mile route and offers up two others 16.7 and 16.9.

I move forward to 9.6 miles out and do it again.
This time the Nav picks 16.5 (the 16.7 from above) and offers up atrernates
of 9.6 (most direct) and 9.7 miles.

It "thinks" that 16.5 is SHORTER than either 9.6 or 9.7 !!! DUH!

If I choose the 9.6 then switch to FASTEST it goes back to the 16.5 and two other long routes.
(Which are NOT faster!, but that could be incorrect average speed in their data.)

If I the switch back to SHORTEST, if chooses the 9.6 as it should have 11 miles back!

STUPID!!!
