BSW Speaker Upgrade 1
My passenger side front bottom speaker is torn. I was thinking about buying the BSW speaker upgrade $600.
Those who have the package, how do you like it? Should I just replace the torn speaker? Does BSW have any discounts codes for the upgrade? Thanks for the help. Last edited by SeaBimmer; 08-20-2011 at 09:50 AM. |

Might help if you say what car it's for...
BSW are indeed high quality replacements for the oem rubbish. They're priced accordingly as well, however the difference will be so much better than the oem. Cheers, Dennis. |

Dennis, do you have the BSW speakers? I have been hearing mixed reviews. I want a solid wall of pure blissful sound, whereas I am getting the impression that the BSW system just kind of clears it up a little. What can you tell me?

Hi
I don't have the BSW speakers as my focus has always been on quality aftermarket audio starting with the head unit, a high quality amplifier and high quality speakers. So I have an Alpine head unit to give me high sound quality from the source along with modern features. The BSW ranges are high quality speakers no doubt and they aim their products at the sector of the market where owners don't want to change from their oem head units. By then also matching the specific impedances etc of the oem audio amplifiers/setups, they provide the best sound quality from the oem setups. They're the only company doing this really, and so their pricing is on the premium end of things. Comparitively, a BSW equipped car will sound much better than a standard one, will be much closer to quality aftermarket components too, but due to the oem BMW amplifiers being quite weedy in their RMS output, won't sound as good as a properly driven aftermarket quality setup. So BSW whilst good, are a 'halfway' house from what I can see. That level of extra performance might be suitable to you though, so only you can evaluate. If I was wanting a 'solid wall of blissful sound' then I'd personally not even consider BSW, I'd go for what I have already and thats high quality aftermarket products ![]() Cheers, Dennis! |

You can save some money and just replace the front woofers and tweeters. See my review here: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...&highlight=ewc
The rear 4" speakers don't do much. Just turn the fader a few notches forward and you'll get a better sound stage anyways. I would highly recommend putting the money saved on the rear speakers towards the BSW convertible sub, which is awesome! I love my vert sound system now, with just BSW front speakers and the sub. The stock H/K sub is a piece of junk. I used to have to turn the bass down 2 notches just so it would sound so terrible. |
