$199 Convenience Plan does not work
I signed up for the $199 Convenience Plan for my 2012 BMW 128i three weeks ago and it has never worked. BMW Assist (SOS button) tells me to go to the dealership to get it fixed. The dealership says BMW Assist’s IT department is “working on it”. No one seems to actually be working on it. Has anyone gotten BMW Online to work in the United States?
When I try to use BMW Online it says I need to sign up. The SOS button people say I am signed up. The dealer says I am signed up. My credit card says I am signed up. |

If I understand you correctly, you paid for the BMW Concierge Service that adds a whole host of additional features to the BMW Assist function of your car, correct? We have that for our 2011 X5 and have never had an issue with it. It works great for us. And we always get great service from the concierge. Used it for a cross-country trip we did back in April and called them up when we got stuck in a blizzard and had to find alternative accomodations. Very nice service.
Sounds like its more of a technical problem with the car. Make BMW fix it and be sure they either credit you back for the time you lost on the service or extend your contract for a year from the point at which you get it working. |

It works fine in my car. I would take it back to the dealer and demand that they get it working. You paid for it, they should refund your money or make it work, NOW.

I should have mentioned that my iPhone wouldn't connect to the car when I first picked it up. I only hinted to my sales guy that I didn't want the car if they couldn't get it working. Within an hour I had emails from the sales guy, the dealership General Manager and the Service Manager pledging to repair the car. I was traveling the next week, they picked my car up from the airport parking lot, fixed the problem then picked me up when I returned. All I had to do was stand my ground and demand satisfaction. BMW of Asheville, has earned my future business.
