Add Top and Side View Camera after delivery?

I have the rear view camera, and wanted to add the side and top view options to the vehicle as well (2011 528i).

Went to the BMW dealership today and they stated that they could order all the parts, but weren't sure if the software could be programmed to accept top and side view camera mode.

Basically, it would be a total of four cameras ($200 each, one in each side mirror, and one in each side of the bumper), a $500 controller module where everything plugs in, and about $300 in "wiring". Plus whatever it would cost for labor.

Does anyone ~know~ if this can be accomplished aftermarket? Seems like it should be!

The dealer seemed reluctant to contact BMW corporate to find out.

Thanks!

I would suggest you forget about this. It's not a simple add on. There is hardware, software as well as different body parts associated with this feature (which the dealer forgot to tell you about). A feature that cost $800 can end up costing you several thousands in labor and parts. It's best to chock it up to experience.
