anyone know about hd radio?

hey i just bought a 2008 m3 and i forgot that the older ones do not come with hd radio as a standard my car does not have hd radio as i have looked for it nor does it pop up when i turn the knob on the idrive and leave it on a station for a few seconds.. my question is can you upgrade to a hd radio if so any idea about a price and install?

BMW never offered an OEM HD Radio tuner retrofit for the pre-2009 iDrive. You could get the parts and do it yourself -it has been done- but it is very labor intensive, complicated, and not inexpensive for what it is.

Not worth the effort IMHO

I have a 2008 M3 sedan (pre-iDrive refresh), and it has HD radio as a factory option.

I have a late 08 (July build?) that has HD. I have every option, if that matters.

No don't help at all lol .... I have an 08 m3 as well feb build. Car has all options except hd radio which I would of liked to have. I wanted to know if I could of got some part at the dealer that would of made mine hd but no go. The car had the premium sound package iPod satellite but no hd. O well
