X3 BMW Performance Power Kit (Version 1)?

Has anyone looked into this? I tried to get S840 added to my X3 35i M Sport (as the non-US M sport markets have this option added), but my contact at BMW NA was unable to get BMW Manufacturing to add this to my US spec car.

I'm looking into it, as the only thing lacking after upgrading to 20 inch rims and Conti extreme contacts is a HP/torque boast.

Tischer has it for $575

I would guess that it is an emissions control related thing why you can't add this to your US spec X3 assembled here. Remember, the new cars built have to be 50 state legal. The beloved, unaccountable, and omnipotent CARB has kept a lot of "good stuff" out because it doesn't meet their emissions control standards (or has not been tested to do so). Blame CARB not BMW would be my guess.
