Please help a confused buyer!

I am totally stuck between the Q5 and X3. What made you buy the X3 over the Q5 if you tried both? Which car did you find quieter and smoother? Does a carseat fit best in either one? For normal driving (I like a responsive car, but don't drive aggressively) do you prefer the 35i or the 28i? Is there any difference in noise or ride between them?

What color exactly is the Mojave leather? Is the leatherette nice or very fake looking?

I found the wood to look a little fake. Is that just me or does it most people? Is the aluminium nice?

Thank you!

I figure you'll get the BMW bias on this board and the Q5 bias on AudiWorld. I went through the same exercise and bought a 2011 Q5 3.2L to replace my leased '08 X3. It has surpassed my expectations in terms of the quality of materials and the build quality, the fit of the 3.2L engine for my driving needs, and the interior and exterior design which looks more dynamic and athletic to me. In addition to my '08 X3, I've also had a '98 528i and '01 X5. I also have the S4 so I'm accustomed to both BMW and Audi. I really don't think you can go wrong with either the X3 or Q5 - it's all a matter of personal choice. Good luck with your decision!

Why limit your choice? Look at the GLK, EX50, XC60T, SRX as well. All highly capable and worthy cute utes in the same class. As a "control" drive a new Kia Sportage Turbo too. Great numbers, right up there or better than the turbo X3 which amazed me!

The easist vehicle I have ever owned to install car seats. I can take my daughters in and out in less than 5 minutes with no swearing or bloody knuckles.
