Changing oil after break-in period??

Would you guys recommend that or is it unnecessary (ie. filter stops any loose particles)?

Looking for advice, thanks.

I've never done that before. Do they break these motors in at the factory?

if your leasing, why bother? if you own and plan to keep it long term, I'd say its worth the peace of mind. However, I dont think there is any empirical data to support one or the other.

^ +1. You don't own the car after 3 years, why spend more.

If you own, then HELL yes. You need to baby that beauty. Toronto dealers charge about $130 range + 13%HST for your 535, but if you go independent, like RMP Motors ... then about $100 all in. Or buy your own oil & filter and bring them to RMP Motors, he will charge you just labor about $25

If you buy from Mike Agius @ Maranello parts dept and say you are a member of Maxbimmer forum, I believe the oil is discounted to $7 or so.

Yup, I plan on keeping this thing for about 15 yrs.

I typically do my own maintenance (at least on anything prior to year 2003), anything in particular I should be looking out for while doing this myself? Just drain, put the new filter on and refill?
