Sounds risky to me. I'm pretty sure the springs, electric dampers and maybe even ars are tuned together and putting on some M5 parts might yield things to get out of balance in a bad way. It's not like adding M cosmetics these things works together and are tuned together. This goes for adding sports springs as well since the stock DDC is tuned for stock springs not sports springs. It could still be an improvement but it's risky taken the $2k cost installed. ( Another $1400 to go back to stock if needed ). Isn't Dinan looking at a DDC tune? Hopefully it comes packaged with sports springs.
That said, I think there are at least two commenters here with ZDH that has installed sports springs who are happy with the result. Biker boy is one who said he was very impressed with the ACS springs. Huge improvement if I remember his comment right. Last edited by solstice; 09-29-2011 at 10:40 PM. |
