Exclamation Transmission Oil Leak…agh!!!

Tuesday morning, while driving out from the garage I noticed an oil puddle on the floor. I immediately looked underneath the car and saw a clear fluid drip from underneath the driver/passenger side. Contacted the dealer service but they were busy no one would answer or return my calls. Contacted BMW Assist and my car was towed to the service center the same day. The next day the service rep called me and said the car had a defective transmission oil pan and that a new one was ordered with expedited delivery. I’m sure the car will get fixed but the whole situation is frustrating. I’m now concerned about the transmission and what other problems will I get in the future. I’ll post later to find exactly how the transmission oil pan was defective and/or any changes/problems with the transmission.

Glad they took care of it for you! Please let us know the outcome. Probably just one of those things that happen. Good luck!

Long story short, the leak was not repaired after a month at the service dept. BMW NA offered a trade assist by then. The paper work indicated that the the tranny oil pan was initially replaced, but the fluid continue to sip. They could not determined how or why the fluid was sipping. A new tranny was ordered from germany which took forever to get delivered.

Take the TA and ask for a loaner in the meantime. I couldn't be happier after getting a TA because all the things i forgot to get on the first round I corrected with the new one.

Take pictures and print out this link.

They will deny it and claim they have never heard of it before.

Standard BMW service.

And oh yeah. It's your fault for the way you drove it.

Hope you did not replace the radio. That leads to transmission issues, right Evlenger?
