storing music

hello
I just picked up a 2011 X3 35i. It included amost everything except the Nav package. I have been trying to store songs from a CD with no success. i am beginning to think that I need the NAV package. Can anyone confirm. I would phone the dealer but they are closed. Thanks.

I would guess that you can only store songs in MP3 format, for example from a jump drive or iPod. I highly doubt the X3 is able to rip from a CD...

The X5 (with Nav) can and so can any BMW with the latest iDrive and Nav. The new X3 would be able too as well if it had Nav. Without Nav I am not sure. The ripped songs are stored on the same hard drive used for the Nav data.

Thanks for your replies. At least on one cd, I can listen to about 180 songs, almost unlimited with a USB memory stick.
