I noticed on the US website it just says Oyster-Black Nappa Leather. On the European sites, it says Extended Oyster-Black Nappa Leather. I discussed this with a rep at BMW UK and he could not articulate to me any additional areas of leather coverage with Extended Nappa. I asked him about the dash, the lower dash, the black area at the top of the door, the lower door panels, but none of these are covered in leather in extended Nappa. He did say that if you get the Extended Merino Champagne Leather this gets you leather on the dash and the upper door panels. But the Extended Nappa does not.

The extended Merino? I don't know - I didn't ask but I would guess about $5k. Your CA can find out. Basically BMW NAs regional rep decides on the pricing of these special order options is my understanding. Usually special paint and special leather are $5k each.
The Nappa leather dash by itself was $2k.

I did some googling, looks like extended leather option covers lower dash and transmission tunner with tight leather instead of plastic. by the way good luck with your ED, do post as many pics as possible Last edited by DreamCar; 10-03-2011 at 09:05 AM. |

The only way to get these areas covered on the 5 series if you opt for Full Merino Leather. Typically Extended = upper dash and upper doors (on 7, M5, X5 and X6). On regular F10 extended just means full seats including bolsters, and the part of the door which has leather on it. Full = lower dash, transmission console and lower door panels.

I believe they are the same and that extended refers to some additional areas that get leather when you order nappa vs Dakota. IIRC it's the seatback pockets and headreast or something like that, not really extended as in other markets

you may want to double check this. Not sure how it works with BMW but with mercedes if it was "exclusive" nappa that means you got nappa dash and door panels
